I Heart Faces entry

My entry for I Heart Faces Best Face from March photo contest. I took this picture of my daughter one day at the park. I love how her hair is blowing and she is flushed from playing.

We went to Nebraska for the 4th of July this year. My grandma moved there last year and wanted to have a family reunion with all of the grandkids and great grandkids.
It is interesting to me how my kids can fall asleep pretty much anywhere. They both fell asleep at the airport in Denver while we were waiting for our connecting flight back to Phoenix.

This is a picture of my mom's family. My grandma is in the center, then surrounded by her kids (my mom, my aunts and uncle), and then the grandkids and the great grandkids. We had to keep taking pictures for everyone's cameras. That would be why Caitlynn has that excellent expression on her face.

We had a really great time lighting fireworks. Caitlynn had never done that since they are illegal for individuals to do in AZ. It was raining when we arrived in Omaha and rained for 2 days after that. It was great, we weren't used to so much rain. Caitlynn played outside the whole first day in the rain. We were also not used to how green everything is and also to how small everything is. We had to drive 11 miles from Falls City, to Hiawatha Kansas to go to the nearest Walmart. The Walmart was so small! I am clearly metropolitanized!

Due to poor planning we stayed at a hotel in Omaha and drove to Falls City, an hour away, 3 of the five days we were in Nebraska. These are pictures of the hotel room that my mom bought for us so we didn't have to drive back to Omaha one night. It was a very old building that used to be where the Governer lived. They were remodeling it and had finished the 4th floor. There was a beautiful sink and a whirlpool bath in the suite and a beautiful king size bed and plasma tv. It was a very nice room!

The bed was so comfortable. They were able to supply us with a pack and play for the baby too. The couch folded out in to a bed for sissy. The ceiling tiles were immaculate and so beautiful. It would be great to go back and see the hotel once it is completely remodeled. They were supposed to start on the lobby the week after we were there.

Overall the trip was really nice. I wished we could have stayed longer and done some other things. Hopefully we can go back again soon.

angels and teeth

I decided to take a picture of the baby while we were waiting for Daddy the other day. She had just fallen asleep and was in the sun. I thought she looked like an angel. It was neat how the picture turned out with the trees and the sun in the car.

Keena is getting so big, I can't believe it. She says a ton of words now. "Gee" is drink, not really a word but it gets the job done. She still motions for "eat" and has stopped saying "I love you" and blowing kissys instead. She is very independant though. Won't eat food you hand to her, she has to pick it up on her own. We've been trying to get her to gain weight. The doctors say that she is underweight and he told us that she needed to eat more fat. So, he said give her food off you're plate, like frys and eggs. She eats mostly chicken nuggets and french toast sticks. And says "Pee" when she wants more. The other day, I asked "where's you're butt" and she pointed right to it. I didn't think she even know what it was. I am hoping potty training will be soon, and quickly be accomplished.

Caitlynn lost another tooth on Wednesday. It was one of her front teeth that we have been working on for weeks. I finally just decided I would just pull it out. She fought for a little bit and then was surprised when it all of the sudden popped out. So silly.

We've been having some troubles with her at school. She took lip gloss to school and got in trouble with some of the other girls and has been having a hard time listening and following directions. We're really frustrated, but hopefully we'll work through this and she will have better days at school.

We had a shopping day yesterday.
After going to the mall and spending almost 4 hours there, we realized we still needed eggs for Easter eggs so we stopped by Walmart on the way home. It has been raining since Friday evening. This is a picture from the parking lot of Walmart. It was pretty awesome considering it was Easter weekend. I love how the light shines through the clouds.

Not sure if anyone can see it but when we came out of Walmart there was a rainbow, so I took a picture of it too.

While at the mall we bought the girls teddy bears from the Build a Bear workshop. Keena got a pink bear with white hearts. Her daddy found a cute pajama outfit with hearts on it. She loved it so much she wouldn't let go of it when we were checking out at the register. This is how she was about 5 minutes after we left the store. So Cute!

I will post more pictures from Easter tomorrow.

Christmas 2008

My two pretty girls on Christmas morning! Caitlynn got a Hannah Montana bike from Santa and Keena is happy with her new tea pot and cups. We had a really great day.

Keena's Birthday

The aftermath! The cake ended up on the floor! She had a good time, she really wasn't sure if she like the cake or not!

Keena's pretty birthday cake!

Keena at her 1st birthday party. She is so big now! She is very smart too!
