We went to Nebraska for the 4th of July this year. My grandma moved there last year and wanted to have a family reunion with all of the grandkids and great grandkids.
It is interesting to me how my kids can fall asleep pretty much anywhere. They both fell asleep at the airport in Denver while we were waiting for our connecting flight back to Phoenix.

This is a picture of my mom's family. My grandma is in the center, then surrounded by her kids (my mom, my aunts and uncle), and then the grandkids and the great grandkids. We had to keep taking pictures for everyone's cameras. That would be why Caitlynn has that excellent expression on her face.

We had a really great time lighting fireworks. Caitlynn had never done that since they are illegal for individuals to do in AZ. It was raining when we arrived in Omaha and rained for 2 days after that. It was great, we weren't used to so much rain. Caitlynn played outside the whole first day in the rain. We were also not used to how green everything is and also to how small everything is. We had to drive 11 miles from Falls City, to Hiawatha Kansas to go to the nearest Walmart. The Walmart was so small! I am clearly metropolitanized!

Due to poor planning we stayed at a hotel in Omaha and drove to Falls City, an hour away, 3 of the five days we were in Nebraska. These are pictures of the hotel room that my mom bought for us so we didn't have to drive back to Omaha one night. It was a very old building that used to be where the Governer lived. They were remodeling it and had finished the 4th floor. There was a beautiful sink and a whirlpool bath in the suite and a beautiful king size bed and plasma tv. It was a very nice room!

The bed was so comfortable. They were able to supply us with a pack and play for the baby too. The couch folded out in to a bed for sissy. The ceiling tiles were immaculate and so beautiful. It would be great to go back and see the hotel once it is completely remodeled. They were supposed to start on the lobby the week after we were there.

Overall the trip was really nice. I wished we could have stayed longer and done some other things. Hopefully we can go back again soon.
